State’s Top Prosecutor and Cop Fight Town’s Gangs
Wed, June 30, 2010
WALTERBORO — South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster says prosecutors, state agents and local police have made major developments in fighting gangs in one town near the coast.
McMaster plans to talk to reporters about what authorities have done to the gangs in Walterboro on Wednesday morning at the Colleton County Courthouse.
Walterboro has seen a number of violent incidents recently, including a drive-by shooting in November that killed three people, including a 20-month-old toddler, and wounded six others.
Joining McMaster will be State Law Enforcement Division Chief Reggie Lloyd, whose agents swarmed into the area in recent months because Lloyd said the area had been taken over by thugs.
