CHARLESTON - The South Carolina State Ports Authority (SCSPA) received five proposals from firms interested in helping to find a buyer for 495 acres of property on Daniel Island.

To advance the sale, the SCSPA is looking to retain a real estate firm to market the property.  Earlier last month, the SCSPA solicited proposals from the South Carolina broker affiliates of nine national real estate firms to represent the organization in the sale of the land.

The firms were requested to provide certain information in their proposals, such as past experience in selling similar properties, marketing approach and capabilities, team members, projected expenses and the proposed fee arrangement.

Firms submitting proposals by the Friday deadline were:
• CB  Richard Ellis - Carmody, LLC (Charleston)
• Coldwell  Banker Commercial - Atlantic International, Inc. (North Charleston)
• Colliers  International - Colliers Keenan Charleston (Charleston)
• Grubb  & Ellis - The Furman Co. (Greenville)
• NAI Global - NAI Avant, LLC  (Columbia)

Their proposals will be reviewed by an internal team at the SCSPA and finalists could be interviewed in the coming weeks.  Any recommendation to hire a firm would be forwarded to the SCSPA Board for its consideration and approval.
