Riding a New Name, New Look; Amusement Park Gets a Second Chance

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Freestyle Music Park hopes to start off on a good note.
The former Hard Rock Park in South Carolina reopened with its new name and theme Saturday.
The $400 million, 55-acre park was the largest single tourism investment in South Carolina history when it opened as Hard Rock Park last year in Myrtle Beach. It closed in September when its owners filed for bankruptcy protection.
A corporation organized by the park's founders sued the new owners and asked the reopening be delayed, but a federal judge refused Friday to delay the planned reopening, saying any delay would be "catastrophic" for the struggling attraction.
