Cat Stevens Decides on Cup Of Tea
Associated PressWed, June 17, 2009
LONDON,UNITED KINGDOM — The former Cat Stevens has decided he'd rather have a cup of tea with Coldplay than take them to court. Yusuf Islam claims Coldplay lifted parts of his 1973 song "Foreigner Suite" for their song "Viva La Vida." His claims came after Joe Satriani claimed Coldplay ripped off his song, "If I Could Fly." Islam tells Britain's Daily Express he won't sue Coldplay, even though he still believes they copied his song. He says they didn't do it on purpose and he's even copied himself without realizing it. He says he'd "love to sit down and have a cup of tea with them and let them know it's okay."
