Bus Mechanics Compete for Top Honors in SC

GREENVILLE, S.C. — School bus mechanics from across the country are rolling into South Carolina to see who is the best.
The school bus maintenance competition and training seminars are hosted by Michelin North America this week in Greenville. Participants will compete to become America's Best Technician or America's Best Inspector.
Both competitions involve hands-on and written exams. Testing begins Thursday. An awards luncheon is Friday.
The sixth annual America's Best Training and Skills Challenge is put on by the National Association of Pupil Transportation.
Local contestants are technician Alan Wenzel, a shop foreman from Summerville, and inspector Tommy Grady, a roving technician for northern South Carolina.
